Rhubarb Seating Announce New Charity Partnership

Working Together with the Red Kite Family Centre

Rhubarb Seating Ltd has extended its already substantial involvement in the local community and business world with a new partnership with the Red Kite Family Centre charity to support them with fundraising efforts. As a local seating manufacturer based in Thame, Rhubarb has a strong sense of community and participates in many local business initiatives and sustainability forums. The charity’s funding from another local company came to an end last year when that business went into administration, leaving RKFC searching for another sponsor. Following a call from the charity, Rhubarb came up with some innovative ways in which they can support the work of this much-needed organisation.

Red Kite Family Centre (RKFC) is an independent charity established in 2017 to provide support to local families of children under five years old in the Thame and Chinnor communities. Their mission is to ensure every child has the best start in life and to be there for every family.

The Red Kite Family Centre offers a safe and welcoming environment for families to come together, share their parenting experiences and participate in a broad range of play groups, activities and courses. This can be anything from a Lunch Club to learn how to prepare a nutritious meal for your family, Antenatal Bump Café, Dad’s Saturday Club, Paediatric First Aid, Autism Support Group, Stay and Play groups, or Buggyfit Fitness for Mums. RKFC offers an essential lifeline and support network to local families, to prevent parents feeling alone or isolated, and to ensure through a mixture of fun play sessions, education and encouragement, children have the best start to their early years journey.

Commenting on the new partnership with RKFC, Managing Director David Matthews said: “We recognise the great work Red Kite do for young children and their families in our community. When Katie approached us after losing their biggest sponsor, we came up with a plan to try to help. As a business we have ex-showroom and clearance furniture for sale. We have invited RKFC to promote these items and have pledged to donate 50% of any sales they achieve. We are happy to be working in partnership with such an incredible local charity.”
