Intro:

Rhubarb Seating has been working with a bespoke joinery manufacturer on a number of projects, the latest being Spinners, a relative newcomer to the leisure market offering electronic bowling, darts, and shooting. It opened the doors of its second location in Plymouth at the end of October 2023 with décor that included a variety of curved and straight fluted banquette seating manufactured by Rhubarb.

The client wanted an opulent look for the venue. From a wide range of fabrics, we put forward selected Malone Velvet Plus for some elements of the upholstery, a beautiful velvet that is incredibly soft, durable, and stain-resistant making it a wonderful choice for this environment which sits well alongside the Agua Alberta Maple also selected.

The banquettes were all fluted to complete the overall style.

We were delighted to be involved in the project, which was not without its challenges for us all. Working hand in hand with the joinery company to ensure that their design was successfully translated into reality meant revisiting the execution on several occasions and, as is invariably the case with any fit-out project, dimensions changed and walls moved during the course of construction with the need to make changes to our work as we went along, even down to the last minute.
