Rhubarb are now FISP S accredited
Already recognised as one of the leading seating manufacturers in the UK in the circular economy, Rhubarb has further strengthened its sustainability credentials gaining FISP S accreditation.
On top of the rigorous audit procedure in volved in attaining FISP (Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme) accreditation, Rhubarb had to satisfy the auditor that it:
- Embeds eco-design into its products and optimises the potential for reuse of its components, where possible
- Ensures no components are harmful to the environment
- Makes spare parts readily available to customers throughout the life cycle of the products, made possible because Rhubarb designs and 100% manufactures all its own soft seating in its Oxfordshire factory
- Provides a reupholstery and refurbishment service for both its own and others’ products.
- Provides third party verified life cycle assessments for its products
There are many who talk a green story, but few who, like Rhubarb, are able to evidence that sustainability sits at the core of strategy and product design. Wherever possible, we purchase within the UK, preferably locally, and our reupholstery services have grown exponentially over the last few years as we support businesses to rework and reuse their seating on refurbishment projects, rather than resorting to landfill.

We work with a wide variety of clients from Oxford Colleges to large corporates in London and other cities. Because we have all the skills required to design and manufacture seating, we can also completely change the appearance of a piece of furniture by the clever use of foams, upholstery and sewing techniques, if the original design has become dated.

So if you are serious about sustainability, get in touch and let us work with you to refresh your upholstered pieces – seating of all types, wall panels, headboards and more or less anything else that is fabric-covered.
